RANCHI: Police on Wednesday arrested a doctor J N Srivastava, owner of Rambha Orthopedic Hospital, after the death of a patient allegedly due to negligence in operating his broken hand.
The family members of Sundarlal Burnwal (45) are agitated because the doctor removed the body from the operation theatre without informing them.
The family members found the patient's body lying abandoned in a corridor of Bokaro General Hospital (BGH), several kilometers from the nursing home.

Srivastava was missing from the spot, said Jagdish Burnwal, brother of the deceased in the FIR.
Following the arrest, the doctors under Chas Chapter of Indian Medical Association (IMA) downed the shutters of nursing homes and clinics on Wednesday evening. DSP, Chas, Arvind Kumar Sinha said that the arrest was done in connection to an FIR lodged by Sundarlal's kin with Chas Police station.
MLA, Bokaro, Biranchi Narayan too came in support and asked DC and SP Bokaro to take immediate action against the doctor.
