NEET UG 2026 Jamshedpur & Ranchi: Exam Centers, Dates, and Security Measures Announced
Jamshedpur/Ranchi: The East Singhbhum administration has announced that 4,231 candidates will appear for the NEET (UG)-2026, scheduled on May 3, at eight centres in the district. Multiple steps are being taken to ensure impartial and smooth conduct of the entrance test, officials said.
The earmarked centres are Lal Bahadur Shastri Memorial College (Karandih), Govt Adivasi High School (Sitaramdera), Abdul Bari Memorial College (Golmuri), Jamshedpur Co-operative College, Jamshedpur Women’s University in Bistupur, and The Graduate School College for Women in Sakchi.
DC Rajiv Ranjan announced that all measures are in place adhering to NTA guidelines. “Entry into exam centres will be between 11 am and 1:30 pm for candidates with mandated documents. The examination begins at 2 pm,” he said. Ranjan has instructed officials concerned to ensure proper frisking of candidates, in addition to conducting videography of the entire exam process.
On Monday, the DC also chaired a meeting with officials to review preparations. Only govt officials will be deployed as invigilators to ensure transparency at the centres. Ranjan said that magistrates will be deployed near the centres for crowd management and traffic regulation. “All centres will be sanitised and sealed a day before the examination,” he said, adding that directives have been given to agencies to coordinate closely to ensure uninterrupted water and electricity along with clean toilets at the centres.
Around 10,000 candidates will appear for the NEET-UG from 21 centres in Ranchi district. Deputy commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri informed that stringent arrangements have been put in place to ensure smooth and fair conduct of the test.
“A static action force will be deployed at all centres, while magistrates will remain on alert to maintain law and order. The administration will also hold a review meeting with centre superintendents to assess preparedness and address any concerns in advance, ensuring a secure and well-coordinated examination process across Ranchi,” he said.
