Man kills aunt over land dispute in Gumla

Gumla: A man has been arrested for allegedly hacking his aunt to death over land dispute at Karajtoli village under Dumri police station of Gumla on Sunday. The body was brought to sadar hospital for autopsy a day after.
Naveen Chandra Ekka (33) attacked Kripa Ekka (55) with an axe at her house around 10 pm on Sunday. In his complaint, Kripa’s husband Pintus Ekka told the police that the accused and his parents — Vitor Ekka and Josefina Ekka — broke into their house and attacked his wife.“My nephew killed my wife with an axe,” he said in the complaint.
Officer in-charge of Dumri PS, Vivek Pande, said, “The accused, who works in a hotel, returned from Kerala recently. He is building a house in front of the deceased’s over which some dispute arose. On Sunday evening, there was a heated exchange of words between them after which he killed her.”
