Ranchi: Police seized over 400 bottles of liquor, which were to be sold illegally, from two hotels near Rampur Chowk under Silli police station limits in Ranchi district on Wednesday night. Police said that around 30 bottles were brought from neighbouring West Bengal violating excise laws.
Police on Friday said that on the direction of SP (rural) Praveen Pushkar, a police team raided the two eateries and recovered the liquor bottles of several brands. The hotel owners were selling liquor without proper licence, police said.
Police stated that a case has been registered under the relevant sections of BNS and Excise Act against hotel owners Balram Sahu and Prakash Sahu in this connection on Thursday. The accused are absconding.
