Ranchi: The JMM delegation, which returned to Ranchi from Patna after seat-sharing talks, is pinning hopes on the RJD-led alliance for a 'respectable' deal ahead of the Bihar polls. While JMM preferred to stay tight-lipped amid speculations of the seats it demanded, insiders hinted that they are eyeing a decent berth in bordering areas along Bihar and Jharkhand with tribal stronghold.
The two-member JMM delegation went to Patna to discuss a possible seat-sharing alliance in the Bihar assembly election, which was announced on Monday. They went there on Sunday and returned on Thursday. The delegation, comprising Sudivya Kumar, the state education minister, and party general secretary Vinod Kumar Pandey. The seat-sharing deal among the INDIA bloc constituents will be finalised in a day or two, Pandey said.
"We conveyed our intention to the leaders of the INDIA bloc constituents in Bihar during a recent meeting in Patna. We also informed our party leader and CM Hemant Soren about the outcome of the meeting. Now, he will take the final call on seats that the JMM will contest in Bihar after a discussion with the INDIA bloc partners," Pandey said.
