Ranchi: Members of the Jharkhand Sachivalaya Sewa Sangh (JSSS) on Tuesday formed a human chain at Project Bhawan to protest delays in the creation of deputy secretary and joint secretary posts for the secretariat services cadre.
The association said the govt had approved the creation of 41 deputy secretary and 23 joint secretary posts, but the process has remained pending since 2018.
It alleged that the personnel department has repeatedly delayed the matter, citing different reasons over time. The Sangh also criticised the recent formation of a cadre review committee, claiming its agenda does not address the core issues.
Federation president Ritesh Kumar said around 1,000 officials participated in the human chain from 3 pm to 4:30 pm, coinciding with a state cabinet meeting chaired by chief minister Hemant Soren.
The protest was called off after ministers Sudivya Kumar and Irfan Ansari held talks with Sangh representatives. They assured inclusion of two members from the association in the review committee and said its report would be discussed with the Sangh before further action.
