Ranchi: The Union home ministry has named deputy superintendent of police (DSP) from Jharkhand Jaguar (JJ) for the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service (PSM), while 11 others for the Medal for Meritorious Service (MSM), on the eve of Republic Day.
Police headquarters said Sudhir Kumar, the DSP from Jharkhand Jaguar, has been awarded the PSM in recognition for his outstanding 25-year career in police service.
Inspector general (Jharkhand Jaguar) Anup Birtharay, IG (provisions) Patel Mayur Kanhaiyyalal, DSP Jharkhand Armed Police (JAP)-1 Sanjay Kumar, JAP-I havildars Krishna Kumar Khetri and Marcus Sunwar, JJ havildar Arun Kumar Ojha, constable JAP-I Jaidev Pradhan, women constables of JAP-10 Janet Margret Lakra and Kumudini Kujur, and constables of Jharkhand Jaguar Sufal Odeya and G Wasim Akhtar have been honoured with the MSM. The medal is awarded for completing 18 years of outstanding service.
Reacting to the honour, Birtharay said, “It is a proud moment for me. It motivates me to serve the country and the state with greater dedication.”
It may be noted that the medals will take a few months to reach the state and will be formally presented to the awardees on a suitable occasion.
