Jharkhand High Court Summons Dhanbad SSP Over FIR Non-Registration
Ranchi: The Jharkhand high court on Monday directed Dhanbad senior superintendent of police (SSP) Prabhat Kumar to appear in person on April 28 for non-registration of a FIR by the cyber police station of Dhanbad.The court, while hearing a criminal appeal, questioned the role of the police in not registering a FIR against Ravi Sao, an accused in the case.The victim’s counsel, Shailesh Kumar Singh, informed the court that Sao though being released on bail continued with his nefarious activities for which an FIR was sought to be lodged by the victim before the cyber police in Dhanbad.The division bench of Justices Sujit Narayan Prasad and Sanjay Prasad questioned the role of the police in not registering the FIR and ordered the SSP to appear in person in the matter.
