Hazaribag Women Invited to Republic Day Celebrations for Outstanding Service
Hazaribag: Two women from Hazaribag district have been invited for the Republic Day celebrations in New Delhi.
Meena Devi, an anganwadi worker from Darudih village under Daru panchayat in Daru block, received the invitation in recognition of her disciplined and committed service spanning nearly two decades. Her husband, Prakash Kushwaha, too will accompany her. The achievement triggered a wave of happiness across Daru block, with locals and panchayat representatives terming it a moment of honour for the entire region.
Serving at the anganwadi centre in Darudih since 2007, Meena played a crucial role in the effective implementation of schemes related to children, women and nutrition. She worked with dedication at the anganwadi centre, where she took good care of children, ensured proper nutrition and also taught them. Owing to her sincere and effective work, she was selected to visit Delhi. “I am travelling to Delhi for the first time,” she said.
Her consistent performance earlier earned her certificates of appreciation from the district administration in 2010–11 and again in 2019. “I always tried to fulfil every responsibility entrusted to me with dedication,” Meena said.
Besides her, 23-year-old Rakhi Sinha of Charhi has been selected to attend the Republic Day parade at Kartavya Path under the Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Jan Aushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP) for her outstanding work in running a Jan Aushadhi Kendra. Her centre secured 2nd position in Jharkhand for its performance and was recognised for transparency, efficient functioning and public service.
Rakhi said, “The Jan Aushadhi centre not only made me self-reliant but also helped provide affordable healthcare to rural communities. People are getting medicines at prices up to 75% lower than market rates,” she said.
A total of eight Jan Aushadhi Kendra operators from Jharkhand have been selected for the special invitation to the R-Day celebrations.
