Four Arrested for Alleged Gang Rape in Gumla, Sent to Judicial Custody

Gumla: Four youths, who were arrested on Monday, for allegedly raping a 20-year-old woman in Gumla were sent to judicial custody a day after, police said.The incident occurred on Sunday late evening when the woman was returning home after attending a wedding in a nearby village.When she was on her way back home, she asked for a lift from a motorcycle-borne youth who was also returning from the same event, police said.After the woman sat on his bike, he drove her to a nearby secluded area, called three other youths, and then gang-raped her.After the incident, the woman somehow reached home and told her family members, who then lodged a complaint on Monday.A police team led by the local police officer caught the accused the same day.
