DHANBAD: Gautam Sagar Rana, a senior leader of the
Rashtriya Janata Dal, who headed the party's state unit, resigned from the primary membership of the party.
He is upset over the behaviour of RJD chief Lalu Prasad.
Rana, who made an announcement to quit the RJD at a news conference in his home district Giridih on Monday, said Lalu Prasad had no longer any interest in the party and did not care for the party workers or its units.
"Lalu is neglecting the RJD," Rana said. He told TOI that he had still not decided about the
next course of action. He would consult his friends in the party.
Rana represented Bagodar assembly constitutency of Giridih in Bihar assembly since 1977 and was also a member of the Bihar Vidhan Parishad. tnn
He was president of Jharkhand unit of the RJD earlier. Rana was a member of the Karpoori Thakur ministry in 1977. He was jailed under Misa during the JP movement also.
