Ensuring peace ahead: DGP visits Hazaribag to bolster security for Ram Navami; Urges citizens to maintain harmony and cooperation
Hazaribag: Ahead of the Ram Navami festival next week, director general of police (DGP) Tadasha Mishra on Wednesday visited Hazaribag to take stock of the security preparedness and inspect various procession routes in the city. She was accompanied by senior administrative and police officials, including Hazaribag DC Shashi Prakash Singh and SP Anjani Anjan.
Hazaribag had seen a spate of communal violence during Ram Navami in the past. The DGP has directed officials to ensure strict vigilance during the festival and asked officers to prevent any untoward incidents or spread of rumours.
Mishra also emphasised on the need for continuous monitoring of all activities during the processions and instructed personnel to remain alert at all times. She expressed confidence that the festival would be celebrated in a peaceful and harmonious manner in Hazaribag.
The DGP toured key procession routes to assess security measures at several sensitive locations, including Indrapuri Chowk, Jhanda Chowk, Bara Akhara and Jama Masjid Road.
Appealing to citizens, she urged people to cooperate with the administration and avoid paying heed to misleading information. She said, “The district would get paramilitary forces and JAP jawans in required numbers. At the same time, people too should be responsible to maintaining peace and harmony.”
Police sources said that elaborate security arrangements have already been put in place, including deployment of additional police forces at sensitive locations, surveillance through CCTV cameras and drones, and real-time monitoring via control rooms to respond swiftly to any situation.
