ED files reply against land scam accused’s bail petition
Ranchi: The hearing of bail plea of trader Bishnu Agrawal, an accused in the Ranchi land scam case, was held before the special PMLA court on Monday. The case is being investigated by the Directorate of Enforcement (ED). During the hearing, the ED prosecutors said they would file reply to the petitioner’s argument later in the day. Subsequently, the court adjourned the proceedings till Tuesday. Ramgarh SDPO Kishore Kumar Rajak said, “A 12-wheeler truck, bearing number JH10AE 4271, on way to Hazaribag from Bokaro was intercepted on NH-33 and 16,500 bottles of beer, which was being transported illegally in 1375 cases, were seized. Driver Fani Ram (50) hailed from Kanjkiro village under the Narayanpur police station in Bokaro district. Probe is on.”Khunti police arrest 2 with prohibited meatRanchi: Khunti police nabbed two persons in connection with the sale and purchase of prohibited meat under the Arki police station limits. The arrested were identified as Sikandar Kalindi and Bahadur Lohra. As much as 15 kg of prohibited meat was seized from Kalindi on Sunday. Bahadur, who had escaped from the spot, was nabbed on Monday, police stated.
