Ranchi: Police on Tuesday arrested a man, identified as Dipu Singh, and detained two minors for allegedly beating a dog to death within the Dhurwa police station limits. An activist, Saloni Srivastava, had complained to the police station about a video which went viral on Monday showing some persons brutally killing the dog using stones and sticks in the Shalimar Bazaar area. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the BNS and the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act in this connection. Police have recovered the body of the dog and sent it for a post-mortem.
