Doctor falls from bike, dies in Dumka

Dumka: A Godda-based government medical officer who was deployed on Shravani mela duty at Basukinath in Dumka district died after he fell from his bike near Asanthar along Basukinath- Dumka road under Jama police station on Sunday morning.
Dr Rakesh Ranjan (45) of Godda district and was originally posted at Balbadda primary health centre (PHC).
Dumka SDO (civil) Kaushal Kumar said, “He was on way to Dumka on his motorcycle after night duty at a health camp in Basukinath temple when he lost control and fell.He was immediately rushed to Phulo Jhano Medical College and Hospital (PJMCH) where he was declared dead. The doctor was not wearing helmet and received fatal injury on the head.” The body was handed to family members after postmortem at the PJMCH.
