Doc enacted kidnap: Cops

SINDRI: The alleged kidnapping of doctor Bidyut Chakraborty from his Pradhan Khunta home turned out to be drama when the homeopath returned home late Tuesday night.
The drama was enacted to frame the in-laws of the doctor's deceased sister, police said.
A K Singh, the officer in-charge of Baliapur police station, said he got a call from advocate D N Mahto from Jagdish village near Pradhan Khunta around 9pm on Tuesday saying that Bidyut reached his place.
"Initially, the doctor tried to fool police by saying that the kidnappers took him to Tundi, snatched his mobile phone and money and dropped him to the village after assaulting him. However he later admitted that he enacted the drama to frame the in-laws of his sister who was killed for dowry. Police also recovered the mobile phone set from his friend's house," Singh said.
Although police have not lodged any case against Bidyut, he has been detained for interrogation.
