Dumka's district mining task force seized 21 trucks transporting illegally mined sand from the Nau Pahad area. Officials reported that approximately 28,000 cubic feet of sand was being moved illegally. An FIR has been lodged, though the drivers managed to escape.

Dumka: A team of the district mining task force, led by the district transport officer Mritunjay Kumar, seized 21 trucks which were transporting illegally mined sand, officials here said on Friday. The trucks were seized from Nau Pahad area Shikaripara police station limits late on Thursday night. The drivers, however, managed to flee. Dumka district mining officer Anand Kumar, meanwhile, said an FIR was lodged in the matter on Friday. "A total of 28,000 cubic feet of sand was being illegally transported by all the seized vehicles,” he said.
