CHSE announces dates for annual higher secondary examinations amid security enhancements

The Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), Odisha, has announced that annual higher secondary examinations will commence between February 15 and 25. Practical exams are slated for January, with internal exams in December. To enhance security and accessibility, the number of examination centers has been increased, and schools are instructed to ensure CCTV readiness.

Bhubaneswar: Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), Odisha, on Friday announced that the annual higher secondary examinations will start any day between Feb 15 and 25. Practical exams are scheduled for Jan and internal exams for Dec this year.Prashant Parida, examinations controller for CHSE, made the announcement on Friday, emphasising the importance of security measures during the exams. “CCTV cameras are an integral part of the exam process. We have instructed schools to ensure that CCTV cameras and their storage capacities are ready well in advance of the exams. Schools should update their systems accordingly,” Parida stated.In a bid to accommodate the growing number of students, CHSE has increased the number of examination centres from 1,260 to 1,350 this year. The expansion aims to provide a more accessible and efficient examination process for students across the state, official sources said.Process for exam registration is already underway, with non-regular students starting to fill out their forms. “Regular students are set to begin their registration process from Oct 20,” Parida said.CHSE also confirmed that Plus II practical exams will be conducted from Jan 2 to 12.
“The early announcement allows students and schools to prepare adequately for the exams, ensuring a smooth and organised process,” said a CHSE official.“Installation of CCTV cameras and the increase in examination centres reflect CHSE’s commitment to maintaining the integrity and accessibility of the examination process, providing a secure and fair environment for all students,” the official added.
