Dhanbad Civic Elections: BJP Ramps Up Campaign for Mayoral Candidate Sanjiv Kumar
Dhanbad: The civic election battle in Dhanbad intensified on Saturday as senior BJP leaders, including Dhanbad MP Dulu Mahato and MLA Raj Sinha, launched an aggressive campaign in support of BJP-backed mayoral candidate Sanjiv Kumar.
Three election offices were inaugurated across Dhanbad city to strengthen the campaign network. Addressing party workers, MP Dulu Mahato asserted that the BJP candidate enjoys a strong booth management system and an extensive organizational network. “We have dedicated workers at every booth. The entire BJP system is working in coordination for Sanjiv Kumar’s victory,” he said, adding that other candidates lack such structured support.
Taking a dig at rebel leaders, Mahato remarked that party members should not revolt while remaining within the organization. He also participated in padyatras at several locations, appealing to voters to cast their ballots in favour of Sanjiv Kumar.
MLA Raj Sinha campaigned extensively in his constituency, visiting multiple areas to garner support. On Saturday, he toured Bhuli Nagar Colony and interacted with residents, urging them to vote for the BJP-supported nominee.
BJP faces significant internal challenges. Former Mayor Chandrashekhar Agrawal, who has joined the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, is considered a key contender. BJP leader Satyendra Kumar is reportedly campaigning for Independent candidate Ravi Chaudhary, while former Jharia MLA Sanjiv Singh is contesting as a rebel candidate. Other leaders such as Mukesh Pandey, Bhrigu Nath Bhagat, and Shantanu Chandra are also in the fray.
