DGP: Conduct spl drives in crime hotspots

Ranchi: The state’s director general of police (DGP), Ajay Kumar Singh, on Saturday asked all field officers to conduct special drives against persons involved in organized and cyber crimes, and illegal drug and liquor trade in the state.Reviewing the disposal of cases reported in the past two years, the DGP gave directions to the field officers, who included zonal inspector generals, deputy inspector generals, senior superintendents of police and superintendents of police. The reviewed cases comprised pending cases, reasons for pendency, action taken against organized crime groups, missing victims of human trafficking and status of warrants and confiscations.After attending the meeting, police spokesperson and IG Amol Homkar said the DGP has instructed the subordinates to track down the persons involved in organized crime from inside and outside the jails. He also said the district police have been asked to work with the jail administrations to ensure that the inmates do not operate from their cells.
