Dumka: In a shocking incident, a 12-year-old boy allegedly committed suicide in Mathakesho village under Saraiyahat police station limits on Thursday after his sister denied him her mobile phone. The deceased, identified as Subhash Hajra, was the youngest among seven siblings. Subhash asked for one of his sister’s mobile phone after returning from school, which she denied. The sister then walked out of the house for some work.“Subhash then hanged himself from the roof of their thatched house. His mother, who was away at the time, raised an alarm after seeing her son hanging,” Rajendra Yadav, the officer in-charge of Saraiyahat police station, said. The boy often demanded a smartphone from his mother Badrika Devi, the police said. The body was handed over to the family members after post-mortem examination at the Phulo Jhano Medical College and Hospital.
