Ranchi: The CM Schools of Excellence across the state are focusing on conceptual-based learning and innovative academic approaches to prepare students for the upcoming board examinations. The initiative aims to strengthen students’ fundamentals, reduce dependence on rote memorisation, and encourage analytical thinking through structured revision and practice-oriented learning.
School authorities said teachers are placing strong emphasis on concept clarity, regular revision schedules, and problem-solving techniques to help students gain an in-depth understanding of subjects.

Daily classroom activities now include structured revision plans, doubt-clearing sessions, practice worksheets, mock tests, and answer-writing exercises. Special attention is also being given to time-management skills and exam-oriented strategies to build students’ confidence.
Speaking on the initiative, Yashmin Galaria, principal of ASTVS District CM SOE, said, “Our focus is to ensure that students clearly understand concepts rather than memorising answers. Through regular revision, analytical exercises, and mock tests, we are preparing them to face board exams with confidence and clarity.
The approach is student-centric and aims at long-term academic growth.”
“To support academically weak students, schools are identifying three to four comparatively easy and scoring chapters in each subject to help them build confidence,” S M Omair, school manager at TVS, said.
Along with this, regular remedial classes are being conducted where teachers explain concepts in a simple manner, revise fundamentals, and provide extra practice, Omair added.
Students also said that the approach helped them overcome exam-related stress. Meher Parveen, a Class XII student, said, “We used to memorise answers, but teachers explain concepts in detail and conduct regular revisions. Mock tests and answer-writing practice helped me understand my weak areas and improve.”
