Chatra Businessman Dies by Suicide Amidst Financial Stress, Business Losses
Chatra: A businessman allegedly died by suicide late on Saturday, with preliminary police probe suggesting financial stress and mounting business pressure as possible reasons.Dharmendra Singh alias Pintu Singh, owner of a bus service, allegedly consumed poison around 10 pm at his residence in Devariya village of Chatra. Family members took him to a private hospital in Hazaribag, where doctors declared him brought dead.Singh operated a fleet of around 20 buses. People close to the family said he was under severe mental stress due to continuous losses and rising debt burden.Sadar police station officer in-charge Awadhesh Kumar Singh said, “All angles are being examined. Statements of family members and associates are being recorded.”The body was sent to the Chatra Sadar hospital on Sunday for post-mortem examination.
