Bokaro: A 25-year-old woman was allegedly killed by her husband with an axe in Bokaro’s Pindrajora area over visiting her parents’ house. Police on Monday arrested the accused and recovered the murder weapon.
The incident took place in Chakulia village under Pindrajora police station on April 26. The accused, identified as Vikas Kumar Rajwar, allegedly attacked his wife, Shanu Devi, with an axe following a heated argument over her insistence on visiting her parental home.
According to SP Bokaro Nathu Singh Meena, police officers reached the village after receiving information about the incident. Her body was sent to the sub-divisional hospital in Chas for post-mortem.
A case was registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita on the basis of a complaint filed by the victim’s mother, Savitri Devi, a resident of Dhanbad district.
During interrogation, Rajwar allegedly confessed to the crime, stating that he lost his temper over his wife’s repeated demand to return to her maternal home.
Police recovered a blood-stained axe, believed to be the murder weapon, based on the accused’s disclosure. A blood-soaked bedsheet was also seized from the crime scene. SP said, “Further investigation is underway.”
