Jamshedpur: The Adityapur railway station will be developed as a satellite station, and several long-distance trains will originate from the station soon, South-Eastern Railway (SER) general manager Anil Kumar Mishra said on Tuesday.
He was in Adityapur to review the progress of passenger amenities and infrastructure development projects. He directed the divisional officials to initiate the process for the construction of the foot overbridge, elevator and ramp at the station. The GM also issued directions to extend the railway station to accommodate long-distance trains. The GM said there is a need to upgrade the infrastructure to handle longer rakes. Besides, all five platforms will be equipped with all necessary passenger amenities.

With Tatanagar railway station being redeveloped as an “A-Plus” category station with world-class amenities, the SE railway is aiming to decongest Tatanagar and shift several long-distance trains to Adityapur, Singh said.
Mishra said that battery operated vehicle service will be launched at Adityapur for the help of physically challenged persons, senior citizens, pregnant women and sick people. That apart, a third line between Adityapur and Asanboni through Tatanagar will be done by May., he further said.
