5 from Bihar held for Chatra petrol pump robbery

Chatra: Five robbers were arrested on Saturday on charges of robbing a petrol pump in Huntergunj block on the intervening night of August 2 and August 3, police said.Police added that the arrested were identified as Anuj Kumar Yadav, Chotu Yadav, Pankaj Kumar Paswan, Suraj Paswan, and Satish Kumar — all residents of Imamgunj and Sohail Salaiya police station limits under Gaya district of Bihar. The robbers had struck Jia fuel service station on August 3 at 2am and decamped with Rs 39,610 after beating employees and snatching a mobile phone from one of them. Chatra SP Rakesh Ranjan formed a task force under the leadership of Huntergunj police station in-charge Sanoj Kumar Chaudhary to probe the case.SDPO Avinash Kumar said, “The police team seized two country-made pistols, two live cartridges, five mobile phones and two bikes used in the incident. The mobile looted from one of the petrol pump workers was also recovered. All the arrested have confessed to their involvement in the crime.”
