Gujarat horror: Unable to pay Rs 2,000 rent, man lets landlord, aide repeatedly rape wife and 13-year-old daughter
RAJKOT: A shocking case has come to light from Morbi, where a man allegedly allowed his landlord and a relative of the landlord to repeatedly rape his wife and 13-year-old daughter, as he could not pay his rent.
The wife’s mother lodged a complaint on May 1 against her daughter’s husband (the tenant), the landlord and relative of the landlord under various sections of the BNS and Pocso Act at Morbi City A Division police station.
On Thursday, the landlord, 55, was produced in court and sent to one day custodial interrogation. After his remand period ended, the landlord was sent to judicial custody.
Morbi City A Division police inspector Y B Jadeja told TOI that the tenant husband was arrested earlier and is currently in jail. The landlord has also been sent to jail.
Meanwhile, a search is on for relatives of the landlord who abetted the crime. Police have completed the panchnama of the crime scene, medical examination of victims and the accused.
Some scientific evidence has also been collected. The family members of the landlord and the co-accused who abetted the crime, are absconding.
The complaint, the mother and grandmother of the victims, stated that six months the family had come to Morbi for work.
The husband had rented the house for a monthly rent of Rs 2,000. As the husband’s business did not do well, the rent owed rose. With the consent of the husband, the landlord raped the minor, who was 13 years and 7 months old at the time.
The accused landlord repeatedly raped the complainant’s daughter and granddaughter at his own house, at the rented house and in Tankara. The landlord’s relative allegedly raped the complainant’s daughter.
