RAJKOT: Scion of Rajkot royal family, Mandhatasinh Jadeja, has been dragged to the court by private lender Gruh Finance Ltd to recover Rs 7.25 crore.
The company filed a case against Jadeja at a Rajkot court on Tuesday after two cheques issued by him allegedly bounced three months ago.
Gruh Finance Ltd’s lawyer Rajesh Faldu said that Jadeja had availed two bank loans worth Rs 7.25 crore and he had given a written assurance that on June 16 this year he would repay the amount with interest to the bank.

“Jadeja had submitted a cheque of Rs 7.45 crore of Union Bank of India (Main Branch, Mahatma Gandhi Road, Rajkot), in favour of Gruh Finance Ltd on July 30. The cheque was not honoured because of insufficient funds and was returned.
The complainant had issued a notice in this regard to Jadeja and informed about the dishonour of cheque and demanded the loan repayment. However, Jadeja did not respond to the notice or repay the amount. Therefore, a criminal complaint was lodged in the court. After going through the records, the court has issued summons to Jadeja,” Faldu said.
