Rajkot nursing student files FIR: Neighbour, friend booked for harassment, assault; caste abuse case registered

RAJKOT: A 21-year-old nursing student has filed a complaint at the University police station against her neighbour and an unidentified accomplice for harassment, assault and caste-based abuse.In her FIR, the student alleged that her neighbour, recently released from jail in an assault case, had been following her on his motorcycle for several days and secretly recording videos of her with a friend. On Saturday, he allegedly threatened to make the videos viral.When she confronted him, the accused abused her verbally. Her grandmother tried to intervene, but he insulted her as well. Moments later, he allegedly slapped the student and instructed his friend to attack her with a knife.The duo fled when the victim called police helplines 181 and 100. Police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. An investigation is in progress.
