Rajkot: The GST officials in Rajkot have lodged a police complaint that copper wire and brass scarp worth Rs 9.44 lakh was stolen from a truck which they had seized in October last year.
According to a complaint filed with
Pradhyuman Nagar
police station on Tuesday, the department had seized a truck with copper wire worth Rs 4.78 lakh and 4,300 kg brass scrap valued at Rs 17.63 lakh which was being transported without bill. This truck was kept at Bahumali Bhavan in Rajkot. The officials said that 1,135 kg of brass scrap valued at Rs 4.65 lakh and copper wire worth Rs 4.78 lakh was stolen on January 10.
Three held for murder in Bhuj
Rajkot: Three persons were arrested for the alleged murder of a 25-year-old man near Bhuj in Kutch district. The accused were identified as Altaf Shaikh,
Mohammad Hussain Shaikh
, Mohammad Hussain Rahim Shah. They were arrested for the murder of
Rafik Shaikh
. According to the complaint lodged with Paddhar police station, Mamadsha Shaikh and his nephew
Rafik were confronted by the accused during a function on January 28. The accused had loaned money to Rafik. But as Rafik and his uncle walked away, the accused and his aides chased and thrashed them. Rafik was hospitalized where he succumbed to injuries on January 31. Following this, a murder complaint was lodged against the accused.
