Dalit teen girl commits suicide in school
RAJKOT: A 17-year-old Dalit girl committed suicide by consuming
Police said the girl, identified as Kajal Parmar, had come to N C Parmar High School, where she used to study, carrying a bottle of poison which she consumed during the recess time.
“Kajal’s father Khoda Parmar in his statement said that he had gone to the school to drop her. He received a call from the school informing him about the suicide at 11 am. Parmar said he had no idea as to why Kajal had taken such a drastic step,” Visavadar police station sub-inspector A K Parmar said.
“As there was no suicide note found on the victim, we are yet to ascertain the cause of the crime. We are yet to approach the school authority. Whether it was a love affair gone sour or anything else is a matter of investigation,” Parmar added. Police are also probing whether poor academic performance was the reason or whether Kajal’s teacher had scolded her that might have driven her to take such an extreme step.

Again Gujarat in media for dalit atrocity. This makes the state as the worst administered one in India. If PM''s state receive such bad press over dalit and tribal atrocities, which receive internation media focus too, it is a shame for rest of India. UP, Haryana, Rajasthan, Maharashtra etc., however, can take a leaf out of Gujarat as well to go as they like. Please initiate very strong measures to stem the onslaughts against the vulnerable sections of the society.Read allPost comment
