RAJKOT: Two labourers were killed and six others injured when a cargo lift collapsed inside a cold storage facility in Chitra GIDC in Bhavnagar on Friday. The police have registered an offence of accidental death and started an investigation.
According to police, the accident occurred when the labourers were transporting jaggery to the sixth level of the cold storage facility. The lift fell from the fifth level killing two persons on the spot, said police. Jaggery transport. 8 labourers all from Jammu & Kashmir
Talking to TOI, Bhavnagar superintendent of police Ravindra Patel said, “Two labourers took the cargo lift to transport goods. It suddenly collapsed killing the labourers, six others who were working at ground level were injured in the incident. They have been sifted to Sir T Hospital and their condition is stable.”
“We have registered a case of accidental death and started the investigation,” added Patel.
According to the police, the deceased were identified as Dharmik Visnagara (23) and Jagdeep Sharma (27). Police said that the deceased and the injured belong to Jammu & Kashmir. The cold storage facility stores multiple commodities. TNN
