Board exam: Dummy candidate caught in Patan

: Police on Saturday detained a 16-years-old boy for posing as a genuine student appearing for class X board exam that was being conducted in Varahi in

Patan district

on Saturday.

The ‘dummy student’ was caught when government representative Jignesh Patel found that the signature and photo of the candidate did not tally when the details on the hall ticket. The ‘

dummy candidate

’ had appeared for another student Rauma Mubarakbhai, who was reappearing this year as he had failed in English subject last year.

Of the total 335 students, 327 candidates appeared in English subject of class X.
