Two dead in a road accident

RAJAHMUNDRY: In a fatal road accident that took place on the Gaman Bridge on Kovvur side of the bridge in East Godavari district, two persons were killed. On Wednesday morning, a fatal road accident occurred near Pole No.14 on Gaman Bridge, Kovvur.

Tatapudi Subbarao ( 37), resident of Duddukuru Village, Devarapalli Mandal, along with another person by name Koti, resident of Duddukuru Village, Devarapalli Mandal, were proceeding on a motorcycle from Duddukuru Village towards Rajahmundry. When they reached near Pole No.14 of Gaman Bridge, the rider of the motorcycle attempted to overtake a tractor proceeding ahead of them.

In the process, the motorcycle lost balance and came under the rear wheels of a lorry, which was proceeding from Rajahmundry towards Kovvur. As a result of the impact, both the rider and the pillion rider sustained grievous and fatal injuries and died on the spot instantaneously. On receipt of information, police rushed to the scene. The dead bodies were shifted to the mortuary of Community Health Centre (CHC), Kovvur for preservation and further
medico-legal procedures.
