Woman Maoist carrying ₹1 lakh bounty surrenders in Mohla-Manpur

RAIPUR: A woman Maoist carrying a reward of ₹1 lakh surrendered before police in Chhattisgarh's Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki district on Friday.The surrendered cadre was identified as Dehki alias Jitti, a member of the Rowghat local organization squad and a native of Munjal village in Kanker district.

Police said she was active in the division area and decided to return to the mainstream after being influenced by the district’s ‘operation prayas’, the state govt's rehabilitation policy and regular outreach by police teams.According to SP Y P Singh, Dehki joined the Maoist organisation in 2010 after coming under its influence. She initially worked in the Madanbada area and later became active in the Marh region under the Rowghat area committee, working with several Maoist cadres.Rajnandgaon range IG Balaji Rao said she surrendered after becoming disillusioned with Maoist ideology, internal differences, neglect within the organisation and atrocities committed against villagers and tribal residents. She also expressed a desire to live a normal life with her family and faith in the Constitution of India.
