after a video of horrible rape attempt, sexual assault and beating two

minor tribal girls

surfaced and two of the accused were close relatives of the minors. When teams of ChildLine, police and child welfare committee reached the village for investigation, the mother of the girls resisted to report the matter but taking cognizance of the seriousness of the incident, an FIR was lodged.

There were three videos that went viral and were recorded on June 7 in a village in Sanna region of Jashpur. It shows that the girls were being kicked, badly assaulted, pinched, attempts were made to strip them off and were subjected to obscene acts. Three youths are seen in the video while another one was recording it. The girls were also asked to sit in 'murga pose' as a punishment and men were speaking in a local dialect.

The girls are screaming and pleading not to touch them inappropriately while she was being pulled by her hair. The accused is heard challenging one of the girls to do as he says or go and report the matter to wherever she wants.

Jashpur additional SP Pratibha Pandey told reporters that soon after the videos surfaced, it was verified and the source was searched. Police zeroes down upon the accused and two were found to be uncles of the girls. They said that the girls had gone to attend a wedding and while returning, they halted somewhere without family's knowledge, hence they were punished.

Team of ChildLine and CWC reached the spot when mother of the girls developed a cold feet stating that she doesn't want any action against her family members. But upon asserting about the rules of POCSO Act, she had to agree but the members of CWC team came forward as complainants in the case.

The girls aged 11 and 14 years, were sent to ChildLine shelter home for the time being. Two persons were arrested under Sections 451, 354, 294, 323, 509, 34 of POCSO Act and two others were at large.
