Raipur: Free, tech-enabled diagnostic services are set to reach remote and tribal regions under the newly launched ‘Atal Aarogya Lab' initiative covering 1,046 govt health centres.
Calling accessible and quality healthcare the govt's "top priority", CM Sai said the initiative would be a game-changer for remote and forested regions like Bastar, where access to timely diagnosis has long been a challenge. "Through Atal Aarogya Labs, patients will now be able to access 133 types of diagnostic tests free of cost, from district hospitals to primary health centres," he said.
Officials said the system will digitise diagnostic services, with reports delivered directly to patients via SMS and WhatsApp, reducing repeat hospital visits and speeding up treatment. The move is aimed at improving early detection of diseases, particularly blood-related conditions, and ensuring quicker medical intervention.
"Expanding such facilities in Bastar is crucial so that people here receive the same level of care as in cities," CM added.
