Showers likely in Raipur, scorcher to continue

Raipur: As the scorching heat continues, the hot winds have intensified, leading to increased humidity during the afternoon. However, the Meteorological department has issued a notification stating the likelihood of light to moderate rain in certain districts of Chhattisgarh on Thursday. Additionally, there is a possibility of light showers in the capital city. These weather conditions may result in a change in temperature.According to meteorologist H.P Chandra, there is a respite from the heat wave for two-three days due to scattered clouds in the afternoon. At present, a Western Disturbance is present as a trough over Pakistan and adjoining Jammu and Kashmir. A cyclone has also formed in the upper part of the air over Haryana. However, both of these weather systems are not affecting the weather of the state.At present there is no active system affecting the weather of the state. The weather remained dry on Wednesday. The direction of the winds also remained north-westerly. Due to this, the period of scorching heat has started in the state. There is no chance of getting relief from the scorching heat, said the Meteorology department.
