School van overturns: 15 kids, teacher hurt

Raipur: At least 15 schoolchildren and a teacher were injured after a school van overturned in Janjgir-Champa district on Wednesday morning. The accident took place near Ram Nagar–Kuthur road in Nawagarh block when the van of a private school lost control and overturned multiple times.According to preliminary information, the vehicle was on its way from Mudpar village to Kuthur, ferrying children to school, when it rammed into a tractor parked along the roadside and flipped over. The impact of the crash triggered panic in the area, with local residents rushing to the spot and launching immediate rescue efforts. On receiving information, Pamgarh police reached the site and evacuated the injured children and the teacher from the mangled vehicle. All injured were taken to the district hospital. Officials said several kids suffered head injuries while others sustained fractures and bruises on their hands and legs. The condition of all injured is reported to be stable.
