Pickup driver tries to commit self-immolation during vehicle checking
BILASPUR: A pickup driver tried self-immolation during a police vehicle checking drive here on Sunday evening. Civil Lines police have arrested the man and have lodged an FIR against him in this connection.
Speaking to TOI CSP Lakhan Patle informed that the Civil Lines police was carrying out a vehicle checking drive at Mandir Square at Jarhabhata. During the drive police team stopped a pickup carrying some passengers. When the pickup drive, later identified as Kamal Dhruv, was asked to show the vehicle’s papers the man poured some petrol over himself and tried to commit self-immilation.
Later the police detained the man and have lodged an FIR against him in this regard.
When contacted Civil Lines police station in-charge Nasar Siddiqui informed that further investigations into the case are on.
