‘Hamar labs’ offer affordable tests

RAIPUR: ‘Hamar labs’ are being established by the National Health Mission to strengthen health facilities in the state by providing various disgnostic tests at affordable rates in district hospitals and community health centres.

Director of National Health Mission Dr. Priyanka Shukla said, the number of tests in these labs has been gradually increasing and with the success of such labs it has been decided that it will be opened in other districts including Durg, Balod, Baloda-Bazar, Kanker, Kondagaon, Bastar, Sukma, Bijapur, and Balrampur.

Community health centres of Maanpur, Patan and Palari will also be established. Establishment in FRU community health centres is under process, she added.

The first block public health unit was established in Patan. There are 120 types of tests in the 'Hamar lab' of district hospitals and 50 types of tests in the lab of community health centres. TNN
