Employees’ body raises 11 demands, DA arrears top list; CS assures action
Raipur: A delegation of the Chhattisgarh Karmachari Adhikari Federation (CKAF) on Saturday submitted an 11-point charter of demands, including release of DA arrears, during a meeting with Chhattisgarh chief secretary Vikas Sheel.The chief secretary assured the employees' union of time-bound redressal of their grievances, including DA arrears, pay anomalies, and issues pertaining to pension and recruitment.Stating that the government was serious about addressing all legitimate concerns of its workforce, the chief secretary (CS) said the administration will soon announce steps in keeping with their interests.The state convener of the union, Kamal Verma, urged the personal intervention of the CS to resolve all long-standing issues. These include the adjustment of Dearness Allowance (DA) arrears into General Provident Fund (GPF) accounts, encashment of 300 days of earned leave, and the implementation of a four-tier time-scale pay structure.Verma said the union was upset as the state-level consultative committee had not met in seven years. The CS assured that a meeting of the committee will be convened soon. The delegation also flagged issues faced by pensioners, demanding cashless medical facilities and the release of pending 3% Dearness Relief (DR).The CS promised swift action on these matters.
