Chhattisgarh eyes global leap as CM Sai invites Osaka’s company to invest in electronics, food processing in state
RAIPUR: During his international tour to Japan and South Korea, Chhattisgarh chief minister Vishnu Deo Sai has invited Osaka-based SAS Sanwa Company Limited to set up a state-of-the-art food processing unit and an advanced electronics manufacturing facility in the state, signaling what could become one of the most significant foreign investments in recent years for the mineral-rich state.Sai, who was in Osaka on Tuesday to pitch Chhattisgarh’s investor-ready ecosystem, said the proposed facilities would strengthen agro value chains, help farmers get better returns for their produce, and push state into the high-tech manufacturing map of India. “These projects will promote modern industries, create large-scale employment opportunities for the youth, and transform Chhattisgarh into a hub of innovation-driven growth,” the CM said.CM underlined that his government is committed to ensuring streamlined clearances, an investor-friendly environment, and full institutional support to global companies looking to collaborate.Officials said that the food processing unit would help integrate farmers into lucrative agro-value chains, while the electronics facility would boost local capabilities in high-tech production. Both sectors are part of the state’s priority investment zones under its new industrial policy.
CM Sai also linked the development to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit to Japan, calling it a moment of historic opportunity. “The friendship between India and Japan is profound. The Prime Minister’s visit will strengthen technological, industrial, and cultural cooperation between both nations and pave the way for shared prosperity,” he said.
