Chhattisgarh CM launches 'Tribes of Bastar' coffee table book promoting tribal culture, tourism in Bastar

RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh chief minister Vishnu Deo Sai launched the "Tribes of Bastar" coffee table book prepared by Kangar Valley National Park during the Chitrakote Mahotsav in Bastar on Tuesday.

This book, prepared by the Kanger Valley National Park, describes the customs, traditions, festivals, local fairs, the relationship with forests, and tribal culture of the Dhurwa tribal community residing in and around Kangar Ghati through photographs. Moreover, this book will promote tourism in Bastar.

Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap, BJP state president, and Jagdalpur MLA Kiran Singh Dev, Chitrakote MLA Vinayak Goyal were present.

Park director Dhammashil Ganvir explained that through this book, the unique connection of Bastar's tribal culture with their forests, their ancient knowledge system, traditional medicine, unique art, culture of faith in forests, local music, and dance, etc., has been depicted.
