Raipur: The National Health Authority has honoured Chhattisgarh with two national awards for implementing the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana. The awards were presented at the Chintan Shivir in Pune, Maharashtra, on April 17–18, recognising the state's administrative efficiency, transparent claim processing and overall performance. Chhattisgarh was selected as the ‘Best Performing Large State' in two categories. The state was recognised for its strong monitoring systems, high accuracy in identifying and analysing suspicious claims, and use of advanced IT-based audits to detect irregularities. It was also lauded for faster disposal of suspicious claims, with timely investigation, decision-making and execution, strengthening transparency and accountability. Improved audit mechanisms, trigger-based surveillance and better hospital coordination helped reduce delays and enhance service delivery. TNN
