Raipur: A disciplined four-wicket haul by pacer Dev Aditya Singh, backed by a composed half-century from skipper
Amandeep Khare, guided Chhattisgarh to a hard-fought seven-run victory over Uttarakhand in their seventh and final league match of the Senior Men's Vijay Hazare One Day Trophy 2025 at Jaipur on Thursday.
After Uttarakhand won the toss and opted to field, Chhattisgarh were bowled out for 265 in 50 overs, a total built around Khare's assured 62, his sixth half-century of the tournament, underlining his consistency at the top order. Khare anchored the innings as wickets fell at regular intervals, finding support from Vikalp Tiwari (35) and Prateek Yadav (29).
In reply, Uttarakhand mounted a strong chase, riding on fluent knocks from Kunal Chandela (67), Aanjaneya Suryavanshi (62) and Suchith (52). With the required rate under control and set batters at the crease, the contest appeared to be slipping away from Chhattisgarh.
However, Dev Aditya Singh turned the match on its head with a decisive spell, finishing with 4 wickets, breaking crucial partnerships, ensured Uttarakhand were restricted to 258 for 8 in 50 overs. Narrow win capped Chhattisgarh's Vijay Hazare campaign on a positive note, with Khare's leadership and Dev Aditya's match-defining bowling performance standing out.
