Auto driver arrested for kidnapping, rape

Raipur: Raipur police on Saturday arrested an auto-rickshaw driver for allegedly kidnapping and raping a girl in the Kabir Nagar area of the state capital.The girl went missing on April 23. Her family registered a missing person case at Kabir Nagar police station. Police found the girl on April 25. The victim reported that she lost her way on April 23. Around 8 pm, she hailed an auto-rickshaw at Yaduvanshi Chowk. The driver promised to drop her home but took her to a vacant house instead. He forced her inside and raped her. Kabir Nagar police registered a case against the accused under sections 137(2), 64(2), and 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The accused confessed to the crime.
