Raipur: A 10-year-old girl fell off a small bridge while taking a selfie with her mobile phone and was washed away in the swelling waters of the Maniyari river in Mungeli district of Chhattisgarh. A team from the SDRF fished out her body after 18 hours of efforts.According to information, minor girl Disha Diwakar, a resident of the village Domanpur, had gone to see the river with her friends on Tuesday. When the group was busy exploring the place, Disha was her trying to click a selfie with the water, standing on the Karidongri bridge.She suddenly vanished, and everyone frantically searched for her, sensing the untoward incident. Prima facie, it appears that the girl fell from the bridge in an attempt to get a perfect selfie.The police were informed, and the SDRF was pressed into duty. As the Maniyari river is swollen due to heavy rain in Mungeli, the rescue team had to search for 18 hours looking for the girl.On Wednesday morning, Disha's body was fished out from the waterbody. The police and district administration have appealed to people not to venture close to waterbodies and to avoid clicking photos at such risky places.
