Youth injured in fall at Sinhagad

A 20-year-old youth was severely injured after he lost his balance and fell from a height of around 100 ft from the Sinhagad fort on Saturday at about 1.30 pm.

PUNE: A 20-year-old youth was severely injured after he lost his balance and fell from a height of around 100 ft from the Sinhagad fort on Saturday at about 1.30 pm. The injured, Nilesh Ovhal of Dattanagar in Ambegaon is undergoing treatment and his condition is reported to be critical. Ovhal is a member of Panvel-based Durga Mitra Sanstha, which is involved in organising events like valley crossing and rappelling at the fort.

Mahesh Pawale from the sanstha said Ovhal was sitting near the point of Tanaji Malsure Zunjar Buruj when he lost his balance.According to Pawale, their members and activists of Rajesh Shivrai Pratisthan rescued Ovhal and admitted him to a private hospital.
Inspector Satish Patil of the Haveli police station said that Ovhal's condition is critical.
