on Tuesday arrested two including a criminals on the
police
records and seized three country-made pistols and 12 cartridges from them. The police have identified the suspects as Vishal Nagu Gaikwad alias Giddya (31) of Mhetre Vasti in Chikhali and Rahul Pramod Salvi (36) of
Mohannagar
in
Pimpri
. The anti-organized crime cell (North) of the crime branch led by inspector
Milind Gaikwad
has made the arrests.
Inspector Gaikwad has received a tip-off that the criminal on the police records Gaikwad was possessing firearms. “We laid a trap at Chikhali and took Gaikwad and his accomplice Salvi into custody,” Inspector Gaikwad said. Inspector Gaikwad said that the police have recovered two country made pistols and 10 cartridges from Gaikwad and a country-made pistol and two cartridges from the possession of Salvi. “The collective price of three pistols and 12 cartridges is worth Rs 91,000,” Inspector Gaikwad said.
The suspect Vishal Gaikwad has eight cases of body offences and possession of illegal arms registered against him. That include five with the Pimpri police station, one with Hinjewadi police station and two with the Dehu Road police station in Pune rural.
The investigating team comprised assistant inspector Ranjit Bhoite, police constables Rajendra More, Vishnu Pandule, Nagesh Bhosale, Abdul Sayyad and Ramesh Bhise.
